Sea Buckthorn, Orange and Goji Berry Lassi

Vegan, raw, dairy, gluten & refined sugar free.

Lassi is one of my all-times favorite drinks. It is a  traditional yogurt-based drink from India and  originates from the Punjab. A classical Lassi is a blend of yogurt, sugar, water, spices and fruit. I love the creaminess of yogurt, sweetness of fruit and an explosion of spices, especially served ice cold on a hot day. As a vegan chef, I’ve created a raw vegan version using two of the most awesome superfoods on the planet: sea buckthorn and goji berries. Sea buckthorn is known for its anti-aging properties, and contains over 60 antioxidants and at least 20 minerals as well as protein building amino acids, vitamins B1, B2, K, C, A, E, and folic acid. Goji berries are said to boost the immune system and brain activity, protect against heart disease and cancer, and improve life expectancy. This recipe combines all of these ingredients to create an immune boosting and beautifying drink.


Serves 2-3


2 oranges, peeled and cut in pieces

½ cup fresh or frozen sea buckthorn berries

¼ cup fresh or frozen or dried goji berries (if using dried, you might need to add more liquid)

300 ml coconut yogurt

¼ cup coconut water

2 tablespoons raw honey or raw agave syrup (or to taste)

Pinch sea salt


Blend all ingredients together in a blender, using the highest setting until smooth. Taste, add more sweetener if desired. Serve chilled or over ice. Enjoy!
